The Typhoon's display slot coincided with a spell of particularly low
cloud, so he didn't go up, which was a shame. English weather, eh?
only thing that could let the French upstage the RAF ;) Well, we were
very grateful to the Rafale pilot for his brief but spirited "weather
check" during one of the slightly-less-low cloud periods, which
consisted of a couple of fast flypasts, quite sharp left/right turn
sequences (v. impressive roll rate!) then landing again.

None of that surprises me at all, actually, but it is an impressive
beast to watch.

And photographers like the shape & size because it fills the frame
even with a modest telephoto ;)

It says here <looks at programme> that they've only been around since
2001 and adopted the name in 2004. They're from 702 NAS, based at
Yeovilton, whose squadron crest is a black cat. My personal favourite
is the one of the little Wasp caught in the transition from a hover
facing the crowd to forward flight along the crowd line left-right...
with the Vulcan bottom right.

At least you'd get to see some scenery in the turns. Must see about
catching up with that Vampire later in the season - there's a photo
competition with a ride in the second seat as the prize.

Stand firm for what you believe in, until and unless logic and experience

naked, the truth and a lie are not "sort-of the same thing" and there is
no aspect, no facet, no moment of life that can't be improved with pizza.
