Hi Guys,

Well, having finally managed to get a good-quality enlarger going
(been using a 60 y.o. Agfa before),
I did two test prints this week-end, I've never shared any OM images
here before so I may as well start,
any comments / criticism welcomed.

Since I *always* do split-grade printing (there is any other way??) I
ditched the Ilford contrast filters
and am using the Dichroic colour head on the Omega enlarger. To my
surprise, it has a far greater contrast
range (i.e. full magenta is like Grade 5+++ on steroids) so I had to
learn all over again, but split-grade printing
is still the only way I reliably achieve exactly what I want on the
first print after only two test-strips).
All this electronic gadgetry, meters and such, in the darkroom are for
digital weenies! (oops, now I've offended
Ken etc...) :-)

First of all, an image of my wife on the beach, I wanted to try an
atypical composition.
Print: 8x10inch split-grade print on glossy RC paper, partially sepia-
toned

Secondly, since this enlarger has a diffusion light source (and I was
used to a 'hard' condenser source
in the Agfa) I tried one of my ISO 3200 images to see what it does
with the grain.

I hope the filed-out negative carrier is not too funky, it's actually
the only 35mm carrier I have for this enlarger,
and I was too lazy to set up the easel blades for proper borders,
didn't have much time.

Thanks for looking, now that I am up and running with good wet
printing equipment, and a scanner for my prints,
I can contribute more often...
