I'll blame it on the altitude. I've been struggling with the menu system on
the OM-4T and OM-3Ti too. For the life of me, I can't figure out where the
Playback button is.
Seriously, this size/compression thingy is for the customizable file
setting. I'm at a loss as to why most people would use it. On my E-1, the
only reason I use it is if I'm wanting quick-n-dirty 640x480 1/8 JPEGs along
side my RAW files for web-page thumbnailing, but I haven't done that in
probably two years.
For the life of me, though, I cannot figure out why I'm probably the only
person in the world using the most powerful function in the E-1: The Custom
Reset Setting. I have Reset #1 setup as my standard fare ISO 100 Daytime
film, Reset #2 is my ISO 400 setting for use with flash, Reset #3 is ISO 800
custom WB for interior non-flash pictures, and Reset #4 is my floating,
whatever I want it to be today setting. This week, #4 is the snapshot mode
where everything is auto so my daughters can use it for taking vacation
snapshots--which are usually better than mine. Usually? Hah, try always.
