Some good observations except that for a 4/3 sensor at 20mm and f/5 the 
hyperfocal distance is only about 5 meters.  If the camera was focused 
at 9.45 meters infinity should certainly be in focus.  If the camera had 
been focused at 5 meters he's have gained another 0.7 meters of 
foreground.  SLRGear test results on the 14-54 show that best 
performance at 18-24mm is at f/4 to f/8 and that there is little reason 
to choose one over the other although vignetting is a little worse at 
f/4 than f/5.6.  In summary, the aperture and focusing distance are at 
optimal settings.
