Yes, PhD degree from Northwestern University (Evanston, IL), Department of
Materials Science & Engineering.
It is there that I discovered stereoscopic imaging... My PhD thesis is
decorated with stereopairs, but my thesis advisor did not have vision in one
eye, so he could not share my enthusiasm for stereo :)
After I graduated, in 1990, I got a job as a research Metallurgist in a
Steel Company. I continued to use stereo pairs with the Scanning Electron
Microscope. My company closed in 2001 and I have been "doing 3d" full time
since then.
