[OM] Mystery OM adapter

Does anyone know what this adapter is for?  It is only marked OL JAPAN.  It 
came with some Olympus gear I acquired and I thought I had no use for it, 
hence I am selling it.  But if it is something useful, I can consider 
keeping it:
