I made a power pack for the T28 and T8 modeling lights using a 4 AA battery
holder, an old AM radio ear plug (any thin double wire) and a receptacle plug
from Radio Shack 20 years ago. It is still probably less than $5 for the parts
and 5 minutes to construct. Personally, I found these lights less than
statisfactory for "modeling lights". For everday use, a flash head was placed
at 10 or 11 o'clock and the other head directly opposite with the included 50%
ND filter.

It is an easy matter to power the modeling lights from a winder using
the remote power socket. The winder will still work as a winder as well
as power pack for the lights but you can't use the socket for remote
power _to_ the winder. Winders are a dime a dozen so I have one
dedicated to macro duty.
