Hi all,

At long last I have my alternate to my one-time (but now abandoned) goal of
a 14mm Sigma rectilineal lens fitted to an OM body; this morning the
Courier brought me a (manual) Voigtlander L camera body fitted with a
Leica-fit screw-mount 15/4.5 super-wide Heliar Aspheric (rectilineal) lens, all
the way from National Camera Exchange, Golden Valley, MN, USA.

The dimensions are almost exactly the same as that of an OM body - minus
the mirror box, and the prism mound. This body has an exterior view-finder
that clips on the outside. The lens is as short as the pancake Zuiko 40/2,
but is only about 60% of the width.

The whole thing feels like a little jewel in the hand. I have to invent a lens-
cap as there isn't one (never made for this set-up as far as I know), and I
will
probably get a camera case from Stephen Gandy. The body feels and
functions rather like the OM2000, which is hardly surprising since both are
made by the Cosina company - which has taken over the Voigtlander
trademark, as I understand it.

So now I have a film camera which will do very wide urban and rural
landscapes, especially valuable for lighting and subject situations that
digital
can't cope with. I'm looking froward to putting a film or more through it.

Brian Swale.
