Ken,
I know how you feel. On a recent visit to the States I took a Leica M6
35mm system along with a Canon G9 and Canon 40D with 17-85 zoom, Tokina 12-24
zoom and Canon 70-200 zoom plus flashgun.
The weight of this "carry on" baggage was ridiculous. (especially when I added
6lbs of rock samples for the return :0) )

What did I use? The canon G9 was used extensively as my main digital camera,
and my Leica/Voigtlander system had about 4 rolls of Black and White film put
through it.

The weight of the Canon system seriously pisses me off. My Olympus 510 is far
lighter..but I just cannot get used to the pokey viewfinder, along with the
display down the right hand side. At least the Canon Viewfinder is much more
user friendly.

The new Micro 4/3rds system shows promise..but it is not there yet. It really
needs a proper viewfinder...Rear screens just do NOT work in bright light.
Looking forward to the review of the Panasonic and Leica offerings
