No doubt a good reflection of Sharon Keller and no further aspersions on
the Texas judiciary can be derived therefrom. The United States is
still a republic and states make their own laws. In Texas, judges are
elected and this one has been the choice of the people for many years.
Conservative judges in Texas pass judgment based on the law as it is
written by the legislature and not as some Canadians or Europeans wish
it was written. In her most famous prior case that awful George Bush
stepped in and pardoned the accused and that is also a part of the
system. In the most recent case there was no doubt about the guilt of
the accused... only a question about whether the US Supreme Court might
at some future time consider that chemical injections might possibly
represent cruel and unusual punishment. No doubt her electorate would
consider that question laughable considering the rape and fatal shooting
of the victim.
