If I remember correctly, it was cheaper to build a bellows out of parts rather 
than buy one in a box. Mont Blanc pens were the same way.

Yes, blocks back then were probably $6-7 ea.  All OM parts were 
reasonably priced then.  Then the folks running the
place decided to turn the department into a "profit deal". I remember 
the day the price on 2-13 focus screens (stock part for the 3Ti) went 
from $13 to $100 overnight.
