Hello Nathan,
my favourite dish, which I learned to make from my "babtcha", when I
was a kid I called them "portemonneekes"
(freely translated: small wallets)
I mostly fill it with a mixture of potatoes and Sauerkraut, but the
rest is the same.
We mostly bake them with bacon and onion afterwards (my babtcha
mostly puts at least 250 grams of
butter in the pan as well, I mostly use some less :).
I see you had a nice meal, it is still one of my favourites (not for
my cholestorol), along with red beet barstj and tomato barstj.
