I agree however reference to it may cause the officer to pause and reflect
or consult with his/her Inspector before doing anything rash.

Thanks, Dave.  I'm glad that it has been documented by the police, but I
should think that each case would be treated on the merits and grumpiness of
the policeman at the scene.
