I also hate OM eyecups!

I have a Minolta VN8 diopter (for the XD series, the CLE, etc) that fits
perfectly _inside_ the eyepiece of any OM body -- except the oldest pre-MD
OM-1's with the little-recessed eyepice, although I still could use the
diopter.
It only adds less than one mm of depth, so I find it quite comfortable to
use.
