Dignity Preservation Device:

OT gives these out or similar DPD gizmos at rehab for various
conditions.

Watching the video, I became concerned that the speaker would suffer a
respiratory arrest.
Perhaps not the best choice. Consider a cheap clone for a few bucks
and toss when no longer required.
Ingenious but simple device--have seen them used--very rapid. I had
the same reaction first time I saw
an adjustable lens hood.

I can do 98 and a bit more quite comfortably when sitting but
descending stairs 'normally' is still a bit of a challenge -
continual flexion to that point is occasionally unpleasant (esp. in
cold weather). I must work on it a bit more methinks. The second leg
hasn't been quite as successful as the first.
Had an unfortunate incident this morning - socks can be tricky. Put
my foot up on a chair arm to put a sock on but the sock got stuck
halfway up my foot, my fingers were stuck in the sock and I was at
the absolute limit of flexibility. Completely locked up - could not
get my fingers out. I had to fall sideways into the chair to break
the deadlock.
The first casualty of aging is dignity.
