Recently, I have bought an used E-520 kit set from my friend as he bought
E-3. It's a long time no shoot with DSLR, Olympus E-system after I withdrew
in 2004. I am still interested for film shots, films self development & self
prints in darkroom. The major purpose of my "new" E-520 kit is for my
daughter. DSLR is good for beginner with prompt review, I can give her
comment immediately. Of course, for me, I think DSLR is a good helper for a
minor function shots too.
I like the skin tone of Olympus very much. Compare with my brother-in-law's
Nikon D300, I think the color of Olympus more nature for JPEG output
directly with standard mode.

The image is very sharp, I did not imagine the image is so pretty good by a
kit lens. I satisfy its performance except it's so pity as a slower lens.
My friend advised me to bought 40-150/4-5.6 & 35/3.5 as compact lenses and
very good quality lenses. There is no original battery grip for E-520, I
agree these lens are more suitable than faster lenses.
As a toy for a teenage girl, a spare stuff for me, E-520 kit is a wonderful
choice.
But, don't expect I'll take many shots with it. Working in drakroom still is
my favourite.
