I would have to agree that the Mamiya 7 is the closest to your goal.
All indications are
that the Mamiya 7 lenses are (in both relative and absolute terms) the
finest lenses money
can buy.
Some claims are that the are every bit as good as the best Leica M
lenses, so when you scale that up to a 6x7cm
piece of film, it's spectacular. It's image quality in a totally
different league. To be honest, I don't think
something like a Cambo wide or an Alpa will come close. They will win
in the build quality / camera jewelery
department, but they are tripod cameras, using Schneider/Rodenstock
lenses that are best stopped down for
optimum performance, and guess focusing.
There would be no competition for me, personally, even though with the
Mamiya 7 you give up camera movements.
