The Minolta A1 does have a mechanical lens-shutter which I believe is
dual-function with the aperture.

It is open for "live-view". But when taking a picture it does the following:

1. Close shutter
2. Purge sensor
3. Stop down the aperture limiter
4. Open shutter
5. Expose sensor
6. Close shutter
7. Dump sensor data down the rails
8. Open shutter
9. Reset aperture limiter
10. Reestablish live-view.

As it is a lens-shutter camera, there is nearly no vibration or movement
involved and flash-sync speed is high with around 1/500 being reliably
usable. When using auto-flash with pre-fire, there are a few more steps
involved.
