Jim,

I run Elements 6.0 on a 4-yr old Dell desktop with 2.5GB of ram, and it 
works fine.  I never do batch processing, but shoot RAW+jpeg, using the jpeg 
images to proof the results and select the ones for editing.  Then I open 
the RAW images one by one, make adjustments, and send them to the editor for 
final work. With an established workflow pattern, all goes pretty smoothly.
