Yeah, extremely complicated, I'm letting the owner decide what to do. 
At this point I don't want to be involved.  I recement OM eyepiece 
lenses using Loctite clear glass glue (cures in sunlight) but that's a 
tiny surface, there's always a way out if it goes wrong.   Just 
completing the separation on a partially separated 3, 4, 5, or 6" 
diameter element is a nightmare scenario.  looking through the lens, you 
can't even see which element is bad, IF one is bad, who knows.  No 
thanks. :-0
