I had really good luck on a 50/1.8 & 50/1.4.

First I gently heated the lens with a hair dryer to see if gummed up
lube might be the problem. It was on these two lenses as the blades were
less sticky when warm.

So I removed the base of the lens and applied some CRC QD Electronic
Cleaner using very tiny "Microbrush" brushes I bought at a local hobby
store. (The tips are ~1mm diam x 2mm long). iirc (it's been a few years)
I just applied the "QD" a tad here and there to where I figured the lube
had gummed up over the years, worked the blades and repeated a few
times. The QD apparently redissolved &/or redistributed the original
lubricant.

Worked for me. YMMV.
