If you look closely at the two lead characters you can see that they are lit
by either follow spots or obliques. The levels on them is very close between
the two pictures. You can't expose the 5D shot any more without blowing the
highlights--it's right on the edge. Both are, in fact. I looked a little
closer at the coloring and levels in the rest of the scenes and came up with
a couple of thoughts.

The lighting between the two scenes absolutely is different. One possible
reason is that the lighting in the E-520 shot is higher because they may
have been videotaping the program. When lighting for taping the washes are
brought up quite a bit higher than normal to reduce contrast. One telltale
on this is the blue lighting. In the Canon shot, it went purple. Dark Blue
gels will skew purplish when the levels are reduced on the lights. However,
that isn't necessarily the case because some Canon bodies are very good at
capturing some of the purples and deep reds.

The second thought I have on this is the frontal lighting is higher in the
Canon shot and an attempt to protect the highlights forced the exposure of
the background down.

Disney generally automates their shows. All lighting, music and even sound
systems are automated to a great extent. As such once the show is tech'd
out, it rarely changes after that. But there are reasons for changes to
occur--especially if they replaced lights with different types (LED,
dichroics, etc).
