That one looks like it was helicoptered in, a thing that kiwis tend to  
do a lot. There's a few of them around, usually less tidy and usually  
in places so remote that the accumulation far below is washed away,  
frozen and then washed away or naturally dispersed otherwise. They are  
usually so remote that the organic input is minimal - we have one  
national park near here where the number of licences issued for  
walkers is calculated by the level of excrement that the environment  
can sustain.
