Also, unfortunately, an example of a case where the greater DOF of a
small sensor camera is not a benefit. The colors and textures of cat
and background are similar enough that they don't separate visually very
well even at f2.8.
One could blur the background and sharpen the cat a touch in post, but I
know that's neither your "thing", nor as natural looking.
