The B&W was from a scan from an overly dense neg. The roll of film had
fogged a little bit which caused the highlights to block up. I'm going to
retry printing the neg in the darkroom as I can burn the sky in without
weird artifacts kicking in. Also, by darkroom printing I can also get better
tonal separation in the foreground.

Knowing myself, I most certainly used auto-exposure with the OM-2S, but with
an exposure compensation. The E-1 images were RAW converted using Raw
Shooter Essentials, which had a rather poor highlight-recovery algorithm.
I'll revisit those files at some point, but as a general rule, I've been
most disappointed with my own photographs from that trip. I've got a few
creative works in there, but most of the images are "formula" shots. I dare
say that this is one of those "formula" shots.
