Full frame or reduced sensor (1.3x or 1.6x). I'd have thought 300mm  
was a bit short for birding. I have the part-time use of a 300/2.8 and  
i'd take both teleconverters if I was threatening things with  
feathers. And yes - it's shaaarp.
