  I see; I forgot to make the wattage conversion. That is indeed a bright
bulb so the extra cost makes sense. I've mostly switched to CF with a few
exceptions. I find that in fixtures that are turned on/off frequently the
lifespan of CF tubes is greatly reduced such that it negates any cost
savings. Although costs have dropped a lot recently; I've seen 6 packs now
for about US$3.50 (but I have doubts of the lifespan of such cheap bulbs).
In applications in which they are turned on/off only once a day they have a
very long lifespan. I also find them to be worthless as outdoor bulbs in
cold weather; they are very dim and slow to warm up. Just my 2 Watts worth.
