Canada): all these activities were purely professional with no hint of
enjoyment ...
No, seriously, the only time of boredom was after 3 years of flying low over
the north German plain. I knew it like the back of my hand and there was only
the Osnabrueck Ridge to relieve the flatness. It's dangerous to fly when you
are bored: low arousal states lead to accidents when you're moving fast.
It was all enormous fun, otherwise, but my students make me feel guilt about it
all when I try to get them to shut the doors (to keep the heat in) or turn off
the lights.
