Yes, too late for advice on motion sickness but it wasn't a problem and
I've not suffered from that in the past. After leaving IBM I was for 2
years the engineering design manager for a small defense contractor
which specialized in work for the Navy. After developing some hardened
navigational displays for them I and the senior members of my team spent
10 days on the USS Nimitz during a shakedown cruise in the Pacific.
Despite her size (nearly 1100 feet long) she does a lot of rocking and
rolling. My biggest problem was not seasickness but trying to sleep
underneath the catapults during night operations. But I'm not sure I
could say the same if the ship had been a tin can (destroyer). :-)
