The Lacie's are repackaged NEC screens, but NEC makes a wide variety of
screens from low end office screens to very high end graphics screens. The
LaCie's are the graphics screens, but they do charge a bit more than the NEC
branded version and the product is identical.
I have an NEC 2190UXi which was $1800 3 yrs ago when I got it. Its
self-calibrating and has adjustable 12 bit internal lookup tables. I think
it was a higher-quality screen than the one that is sold as the LaCie 321
and was the same as a more expensive LaCie model, but I forget now which it
was. I researched this stuff when I got my screen a few yrs back.
