I'm of the opinion that there is "nice" and then there is "NICE!!!" The E-1
will probably go down in digital camera history as a "one-off" camera. For
all of its quirks (and it has a ton of those), it still gives that
occasional picture that just makes you giggle like a school girl. Flower
pictures definitely fall into that category--the E-1 just sees flowers
differently than other cameras.  Having a "Photoshop Action" or Lightroom
adjustment doesn't do the same thing--it's literally seeing the natural
world differently.

For most people and applications, the E-1 is now woefully out of date, as
the level of expectation has continued to rise. But the reality is, the
camera still does deliver the goods for those of us still choosing to push
it to the limit. However, it is oftentimes more difficult to get that extra
oomph out of the camera that newer ones provide as a default.

The E-1's colors and dynamic range (more to come on that) is what all other
E-system cameras are compared to.
