On a sadder note, I got in a tampered 35-80mm f2.8. Focus okay at 80mm,
goes completely out of focus as you go to 35mm and infinity never comes
in. Someone took it apart from the back and looks like they had scraped
the inside of one of the zoom tubes with a big screwdriver. Then they
left out all the screws, nylon bushings and washers needed for the
affected moving element tube. Grand total, more than 15 parts missing.
Very sad. Most parts not available AND the fact that the zoom tube was
all scored up (has to be smooth as butta) made it "beyond repair".
Hope they decide to contribute to the Camtech spare parts collection.
Something good could then come from the major screw-up. Bill Barber
