Didn't know about that. Actually, the large surface contact area and 
large thumb screw tor tightening makes these plates much less of a 
problem than many others.

Hmmm... That gives me an idea. The 410 plate has 1/4" & 3/8" holes for 
storage of the alternate tripod thread screws. The 3/8" one is in a 
place where it could help. The stored camera mount screws naturally 
don't protrude above the mounting surface. But a longer, 3/8" machine 
screw with the threads cut/ground off where it protrudes would make a 
nice pin to prevent rotation. The range of fore/aft adjustment provided 
by the camera mounting screw slot should accommodate many cameras. Fits 
an OM body nicely, as well as the Velbon QR receiver I use.
