Glad to hear you're all safe and dry. I've never had to use the canoe
(although some neighbors did) but I have had a foot of ice cold water in
the basement at two prior houses. But it came in under frozen ground
during spring thaws and not from above ground flooding. Lesson learned:
Just like hard drives, if you use a sump pump be sure to keep a backup.
