Last week Hospital IT upgraded my office PC to MS Office 2007. ARRRRGG!
It's bad enough I have to relearn how to do everything but I also have to
contend with new bugs. For the first time since the upgrade I printed a few
envelopes today. The little dialog box with the two address windows looked
OK but when I fed the envelope through the printer both addresses came out
as garbage: &@#^%$ lines like that. WTF!! I restarted Word and tried again
with same results. Now what? I did a G**gle search on " Word 2007 envelope
garbage" and got a slew of hits. Seems all Office 2007 applications use a
new default font ...(sorry Andrew) typeface called Calibri (which I don't
like very much). I don't know why but if you change the default typeface to
anything else (I chose Times New Roman) the problem goes away. I'll let the
more capable figure out why it works.
