What really made Miranda stand out then was that their 3 year warranty.
I might listen to it now and think "that sounds horrible". Give me a
OM-2S, or the sound of chambering a round into an AK-47. ;-)

I had worked all the previous summer and saved enough to buy my first
real camera, Nikon F, w/ Photomic Tn finder (center weighted) with 50
1.4. Never even needed to take advantage of the 1 year warranty. If it
was needed, Nikon importer and service (Ehrenreich Photo Optical
Industries) was there in my town, Garden City, NY. They also imported
Durst, Bronica, Sinar, Merz (processing equipment) and others. Little
did I realize where my career would begin.
