I think what you suggests works fine for the first import but when you
try adding folders after that it becomes unstuck. I have my folder
structure outside aperture organised as year with monthly subfolders and
then daily subfolders under them. I use YYYYMMDD format so each folder
is immediately identifiable. within aperture I have each year as a
project and then a folder (blue for each month) with albums then for
each day as this was the default with the first version. I can import
the year as a project which works fine, but when I later add subfolders
to a month - I have not yet found a way to reimport them without
importing the whole year again, which is why I use the workaround I
described. I have no idea why they removed this option which was allowed
before.

Interestingly I saw that amazon have the study book, maybe I need to
read it, if I can find time. Just out of interest what type of work is
available for a certified aperture expert and are you doing or planning
other mac training as well. After 15 years of official study and taking
over 200 exams I promised myself I would never take another test - maybe
I have to reconsider that decision some time;-)
