Today I was at the local recyclers. Not my usual stamping ground but my
partner likes going there so I don't mind and anyway I have picked up the
odd item such as a pair of lovely Swedish wine glasses without peer.

So, today we wander in there and what do I see?

Two enlargers, one has been left out in the weather for a few days and the
other not. They have not been officially tested electrically yet ... So they
could let me have them on appro only. Will probably be available for a
donation.

The one left out in the rain which I stood in from of a fan heater for a couple
of hours is a
MEOPTA OPEMUS 5a with a Meopta Anaret 4.5/80 (F/4.5 - 22) lens that
could do with a clean but looks OK otherwise.
The light source is a 240 volt frosted bulb that looks as though it would fit
in
one of our standard house light sockets.
It lit up OK.

The other, much heavier and larger, is a
Krokus RG 66 with a Minolta E.Rokkor 1:4.5 f=50cm lens $126126
It has 6 stops but is so recessed I can't see the numbers except with
difficulty if I take the lens out. Seems to be f/4.5 - 22. It looks to be in
quite
good condition.
Unfortunately, when I hooked up the power there was a momentary flash,
then it was all over, Rover.
Turns out it has a 12 volt glass envelope lamp.
There are three colour sliders. A lot of glass between the lamp and the
negative.

Both machines were made in Poland.

Any comment about them, preferably useful !! will be appreciated.

Brian Swale.
