Poorly written javascript & cascading style sheets (CSS), as well as
design tools based around only one vendor's browsers are often to blame,
too... Dealing with the repeated errors brings w3c compliant browsers to
their knees.
My work's intranet site main page is so poorly written that Opera
reported some 70 indiscretions when I turned the error console on. FF
takes forever to load it, & IE just displays it quickly without
complaint (I think I know whose page design tools they use...).
I'm with Chris on this one, except maybe he's being too gentle... ;)
