I'd say Nik*n decided for now it is good enough, and when the 'new concept'
grows te be a success, sensor resolution *will* be good enough.
Think Oly had the same idea with 4/3, but guess they were too early. Besides
Nikon can offer a grow path: new concept -> aps -> ff, so they can escape
with less quality then aps. Oly never had that change, because aps is what
4/3 competes with.
