Your flag picture shows you did quite well with the digital kit you had
along. I like both film and my E-system cameras, so you don't need to feel
like a traitor. For me shooting film grows out of a love of OM cameras
(blame Joel for that) and the desire to not take an approach to photography
that involves 'pressing the shutter and waiting for the buffer to fill'. ;)
I like home b&w processing because I like working with my hands in the lab,
and have a bit of nostalgia for my undergrad days as a chem major at the
Univ. of Missouri - long, long ago. ;) Tank developing really is very
easy, and I like the cost effectiveness and process control.

I like to learn as much as I can about the tools for making photographs
(digital, film, alt. process, pinhole, and whatever else I stumble upon) so
I that I have choice in my toolbox. I do still find it magical to unfurl a
roll of b&w 120 from the tank, look at those big, beautiful, dripping negs
and be thankful that yet again I didn't screw it up. ;) Not everything in
life gives that kind of satisfaction.

Paul
