I thought of the flash-sync problem too, but there should have been
something in the shadowed area. Also, if it is a flash-sync problem
the division between light and dark is typically much sharper.

The E-30 is reported to NOT have the same shutter as in the E-3. I've
never been able to get a definitive answer on this and there may
actually be some E-30s with E-3 shutters due to parts availability.
The E-30 is rated to 50,000 I think.

Shutter count is one of those things that seems to crop up in my mind
whenever I use the L-1. Strange, but you get used to the
indestructible E-1 and when using a lesser camera, every fault and
foible is just that much more magnified.
