It has been shown that some modern digital components (like shutters 
made by subcontractors) don't last anywhere near as long as they should. 
  Parts of nylon, plastic, things riveted together instead of drilled, 
tapped and screwed.  With the ability to overshoot, photographers have 
been known to cycle the shutter 4 - 8,000 frames in a day.  This much 
use dramatically cuts shutter life (heat damage to shutter parts?)

OM Mechanical film shutters (OM-1 through 2N, 2S, 3, 3Ti, 4, 4T, 4Ti) 
were rated to around 100,000 cycles, as I recall. 30,000?  Maybe the 
OM-10  ;-)
