My family and I were in Oregon last year on vacation, and on the drive
from the Oregon coast to Portland we noticed the museum from the road
and decided to stop in. At the time, we had no idea what was in it
but decided to tour just the aviation museum as the aerospace museum
cost extra. It was pretty obvious once we went in that the giant
plane could only be the Spruce Goose. It's a nice museum and has a
lot of very nice planes, such as a flying B-17. The aerospace museum
has a lot more replicas in it so I'm not too sad we didn't go through
it, but I would have liked to see their SR-71. When we were there,
the 747 wasn't on the roof yet, but they apparently have some plans to
make it into a water park or some such thing, which actually would
have been pretty nice for the kids since it was over 100F. In any
case, it's not the most inexpensive museum I've ever been to, but it
was a worthwhile stop for us.
