I'm rather fascinated in how the E-1 and L1 render scenes. Under
normal daylight or flash lighting the images are close to
interchangeable. But once the light turns warm the pictures take on an
entirely different life. Ken Rockwell would love the L1 as the colors
turn nuclear.
Kirk Tuck's blog today is definitely related to this. He's pulling out
the ancient Kodak beast because the skintones are so much better than
the current Canons. That sensor and the one found in the E-1 have
nearly identical characteristics. There are reasons why the E-1
remains my goto camera for portraiture.
You can "fix it in post," but that's a repair, not a solution.
BTW, the E-1 and Kodak cameras both have issues with IR.
