Scanning is useless. You never get corner-to-corner sharpness scans. When I
used to scan slides with my Nikon LS-4000, I used to divide the slide in
32x32 cells, refocusing the scanner in every cell and then stitching all of
them under PS. Results were fantastic but it´s a hard task. I attach some
links of my images, taken with the OM4Ti using Ektachrome E100S/VS slide
film. Lenses used were 180/2.8, 50/1.2, 135/2.8 Resolution IMHO is worse
than digital despite of the huge amount of pixels. I prefer digital images.
I highly recommend forgeting about film. It´s even worse than RAW
processing. I forgot to mention I bought all ICC targets from VELVIA,
EKACHROME, KODACHROME, ASTIA films for calibrating my Nikon scanner. I am
very happy with Digital Photography. Less work and much higher quality.
