4GB can be a bit on low side, OS X tends to like to keep things in memory and
uses RAM rather aggressively. I'd at least double that, the price of FB-DIMMS
has dropped significantly in the last few years so adding memory isn't that
expensive anymore. I run with 18GB of RAM my Mac Pro and it runs reasonably
well, large HD video files still stress the memory though.
