That was enjoyable, Chuck, thanks.  And you looked happy :-)

"Pushed well beyond that" explains the noise in the night shots from a camera 
that I thought had a better performance than that in low light.  But, on 
reflection, it looks as if it was quite dark outside . . .

I must admit that the G11/G12 shots look better than the P7000, in the high ISO 
arena, anyway.
