I had a 24/2.8 MC, it was before the digital age, I made a quick dirty test
to compare it with my 24/2, they were very close with the 24/2.8 a little
cool in color. Under the 5D II, 21/2 and 24/2 are very close in resolution.
The 21/2 has very high resolution, I don't think any lens will give obvious
better result.

There was not much people mentioned about the 28-48, I did posted a few
times here after getting the 5D II, it performs better than all zooms I have
tested near that range including the Tamron SP 24-48 and SP 35-80. It
possess high sharpness and resolution, a great travel lens, I wish it is a
24-48.
