Yup - the diesel equivalent will be about 10% more expensive, but will have
more horsepower, heaps more torque, lower CO2 emission, much less fuel
consumption and cheaper fuel, will last longer, have higher resale value,
and still sound like a bucket of nuts and bolts at tick-over.  And
auto-tranny is not just possible, it's preferable - for better acceleration
and lower fuel consumption - for the average driver who's never in the right
(most-efficient) gear.
Gets my vote and €.
